Project 2: Preliminary Research - Istanbul, Turkey

Istanbul, Turkey:
Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey, which is a heart of economy, culture, and history
City coordinate: 280 01' and 290 55' eastern longitudes and 410 33' and 400 28' North latitude. The South of Istanbul is the Marmara Sea, and its north is the Black sea.
Standard time zone: Eastern European Time ( EET)
Population: 14 million (2013)
Area: 5,343 square kilometers (2,063 sq mi)
Culture: three major world culture: Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman
Distance from Oklahoma to Istanbul:
It takes about 14 hours to flight from Oklahoma, US to Istanbul , Turkey
Industry:
Istanbul contributes 40% of all taxes collected in Turkey and produces 27.5% of Turkey's national product
Major industry product: Food Processing, textile production, oil production, rubber, metal ware, leather, chemicals, electronic, glass, machinery, paper and paper product alcoholic drinks.
Pharmaceutical industry started in 1952, and now there are 34 companies operate in Turkish pharmaceutical industry.

For a short-term stint in Istanbul:
For one or two weeks, I will look for a hotel, which is located in the center of Istanbul.
For more than a months, I would like to live in an apartment with affordable rent. that is more comfortable to me.
the apartment need to have a big bedroom, bathroom and enough appliances in a peaceful area. beside that, it will be near by some famous places in Istanbul, such as Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque or Galata Tower. that facilitate for me to go some where. the place I live have to be convenient on transportation and traffic.

My field - Graphic design in Istanbul:
In Istanbul, the Istanbul Design  Center (IDC) hosts seminar programs and other educational workshops that are open to public, benefiting designers that visit the center as well as anyone who is interested in the field of design and art. There are many chances to develop my profession here. I can gain more experience from some program like this. Graphic designer can design brochures, magazines, logos, website and so forth in Istanbul.
